چکیده

The effects of aluminum chloride (AlCl ), ascorbic acid (AA) and/or their combination were 3 investigated on the performance, digestibility, nitrogen balance, caecal microbial activity and biochemical parameters in male New Zealand white rabbits. The experimental rabbits were randomly divided into four groups (n=6/ group). The first group was used as a control, the second group was used to study the effect of ascorbic acid, the third group was used to study the effect of aluminum chloride, while the fourth group was given the combination of ascorbic acid and aluminum chloride. The tested doses of aluminum chloride and ascorbic acid were given every other day for 16 weeks. The treatment with AlCl resulted in significant (p<0.05) decrease in 3 body weight, feed intake, drinking water, nitrogen balance, digestibility coefficients (DM, OM, CP, CF, EE and NFE ), TDN and DCP. Also, treatment had significant (p<0.05) effects onthe activities of aspartate aminotransferase (AST), alanine aminotransferase (ALT), alkaline phosphatase (AlP), acid phosphatase (AcP) and the concentration of thiobarbituric acid-reactive substances (TBARS) plasma enzymes activity. But, presence of AA alone or combination with AlCl could be indication of the improved liver function and 3 protective from the toxicity of aluminum.

Effect of purple loosestrife (Lythrum salicaria) diet supplementation in rabbit nutrition on performance, digestibility, health and meat quality.

In this study, 160 Hycole weaned rabbits (35 days old) were randomly divided into four groups of 40. The rabbits were studied throughout a 54-day experimentation period in order to determine the impact of dietary supplementation from herbs composed of 0.2%, 0.4% dry ground Lythrum salicaria leaves (LS) and 0.3% Cunirel(®) (CR; a commercial herb mixture containing LS as the main ingredient) on p...

Effects of Nigella sativa oil and ascorbic acid against oxytetracycline-induced hepato-renal toxicity in rabbits

Objective(s):  Oxytetracycline (OTC) is a broad spectrum antibiotic widely used for treatment of a wide range of infections. However, its improper human and animal use leads to toxic effects, including hepatonephrotoxicity. Our objective was to evaluate protective effects of Nigella sativa oil (NSO) and/or ascorbic acid (AA), against OTC-induced hepatonephrotoxicity in rabbits. Materials and Me...

Some Productive, Reproductive and Physiological Effects of Using Different Dietary Protein Levels in Rabbit Does

Three groups of 11 New Zealand White (NZW) rabbit does, each were reared from 12 weeks of age on iso-energetic diets containing 16, 14 or 12% crude protein (CP) were used to study influences on productive performance, digestibility, some carcass traits, haematological, biochemical and hormonal parameters of rabbit does. The results showed rabbits fed on 16% protein diet had heavier body weights...
